guide for homebuyers

Buying a home can be an overwhelming process. After all, it is usually the biggest investment people make. Which is why I created a 5-step guide to help homebuyers through the process.

  1. Determine your budget and get pre-approved for a mortgage: It's important to account for your income, expenses, and any other financial obligations to figure out how much you can afford to spend on a home. Once you know your budget, you should get pre-approved for a mortgage. This will give you a better idea of how much you can borrow and help you narrow down your search to homes within your price range. If you're looking for a mortgage lender, I'm happy to share my recommendations.
  2. Start house hunting: With your budget and real estate agent in place, it's time to start house hunting. I can help you find properties that match your preferences and budget, and we can attend open houses or schedule private tours to see homes in person.
  3. Make an offer: When you find a home you like, work with your real estate agent to make an offer. This will involve negotiating the price and terms of the sale.
  4. Get a home inspection: Before closing on the sale, get a home inspection to identify any potential issues with the property. This will give you an opportunity to renegotiate the sale price or ask the seller to make repairs. I have some experienced home inspectors that I am happy to recommend to you as well.
  5. Close the sale: Once everything is in order, it's time to close the sale. This involves signing paperwork, paying closing costs, and transferring ownership of the property.
